The Bentley Mulliner Continental GT Convertible – Equestrian, is a country gent that packs an aesthetic punch.
Bentley Mulliner has added to its new Collections portfolio and with the new Continental GT Convertible – the Equestrian Edition.
This one of a kind Continental GT Convertible embraces equestrian styling throughout and has a host of distinctive features that build on the strengths of the iconic Grand Tourer. The car was inspired by the legendry Cheltenham Festival, this one-off vehicle was commissioned by Bentley Bristol and hand-built by Bentley’s extraordinary team of engineers at their Crewe plant.
Pictured at Jackdaws Castle – the famous state-of-the-art equestrian training facility and home to Jonjo O’Neill Racing, what is clear to see is that there is unrivalled attention to detail throughout the car. With is sumptuous embroidery, and artisanal marquetry, this unique car exemplifies the sport it so beautifully represents; an elegant blend of beauty and performance.
Horse and rider silhouettes adorn all four of the seats which are finished in Saddle Hide. The same iconic silhouette accompanies the Mulliner branding on the front fascia which also features lavish gold details to accentuate the Walnut veneers and box-wood inlays.
The diamond quilting featured in the interior has been made in tweed to compliment the “Cheltenham Festival” styling. This is offset with light blue stitching to give it a modern touch. The interior of the car is completed with the use of the trademark Bentley Mulliner treadplates.
The exterior is where some magic design touches give the vehicle a seriousness and outward aggressive aesthetic which belies its country-gent grand-tourer interior. Coloured in a traditional, yet distinctive shade of green called “Spruce”, the car has been given the Bentley Blackline Specification – where all the standard brightwork elements have been replaced with glossy black versions. This includes the bezels, radiator grill, and exhaust outlets. Bold 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification wheels – again in gloss black, complete the downright suave appearance, and mark this one-off tribute to National Hunt racing a real feast for the eye.
